The Future of Work

Workplaces of the future will be smarter and with greater employee autonomy to boost innovation and productivity.

Earlier this year the FBC attended the Future of Work conference as a guest of the Centre for Workplace Leadership. We’d like to thanks the Centre for involving us in this inspiring event.  Find out about their new initiative Leadershift here.

Daniel Pink – applying behavioural science to the workplace

At the Future of Work conference, Daniel, a workplace futurist, advocated the case for evidence-based management approaches.

His top tips for managers include:

  • Boost productivity by giving staff purpose, mastery & autonomy.
  • Bonuses often lower productivity.
  • Talk about the ‘why’ rather than the ‘how’ to motivate staff.

Listen to more about his ideas in his TED talk on the science of motivation.
